Danderyds Konstrunda – Open Studio Art Trail with 104 artists

As an artist I get to be involved in some super exciting projects and collaborations and one of my favourites must be Danderyds Konstrunda – our local Art Trail.

This incredible art and folk festival is held every two years and I am on the committee with some incredible artists to help make this event happen. And this year is even more special to me as my amazing daughter, Meya, has been busy behind the scenes building the website, sharing the stories of our talented artists and creating the maps to guide people through the trail.

Art for everyone

This year we are excited to include 104 artists who are opening their studios and homes to the public. From globally recognized artists to local hobby artists, the art trail will feature art in all its forms including ceramics, dollhouses, sewing, painting, sculptures, jewellery, and photography. All our artists are equally enthusiastic and well prepared to welcome our visitors. Despite emerging from the pandemic, in 2021 we had over 17,000 visits and I am super excited to see what this year brings.

Danderyds Konstrunda 2021 - welcoming visitors to Studio Flow

A new Mixed Media Art Collection

Danderyds Konstrunda takes place this weekend (2-3 September, 2023) and as you can imagine it has been a hive of activity. There have been signs to put up, maps to create, produce and distribute and of course plenty of marketing through social media and within the local press.

This art exhibition is a key event in my calendar and I love to create some pieces specifically for this event. This was a little challenging as July and August have been very busy with summer holiday and launching some new classes for my students. So, it did mean that I slept at the studio this past weekend so I could maximise my painting time. I loved it!! …but it is not something that I want to make a habit…..

But….

It was really fun and quite liberating to just focus on my painting for a WHOLE WEEKEND – wahoo. Just me, my studio, my art and a LOT of coffee! Here is a little sneak peek at some of the pieces that will be available.

Guest Artists in Studio Flow

I am so excited to be welcoming 3 guest artists into Studio Flow as they will exhibit their art in my studio for the weekend as we welcome visitors to this unique and fun Art Trail. We will be four artists with different styles. A really cool mix and all of them strong visual artists and amazing friends. Here are links to these amazing humans:

Peter PG Gustafsson , Gunilla Galitea and Tina Jacobsson

Below are samples of their work…

One gallery – 104 artists!

To guide all our amazing visitors through this gorgeous neighbourhood and to all Open Studios we have created a digital map and a website with info about all the artists. To help you even further to plan your weekend we also have a joint exhibition that feature a single piece from each of the 104 artists. As you can imagine, combining an eclectic mix of art in a single space can have its challenges. It’s also a great deal of fun.

I love how all the art comes together, it makes things feel homely and more real. I think that is soooooo important when you are displaying art as I discussed in last months blog.

Join me this weekend for Danderyds Konstrunda

If you are living in Stockholm and can visit, please do come by and say hello. If you are not able to attend in person I will be sharing this wonderful adventure on my social channels so do join me on Facebook and Instagram where I will do a walkthrough of the studio and share with you some behind the scenes action from the Art Trail.

Interested in my new collection?

This year I will be releasing some of the collection for purchase online as well as at the event to allow my collectors from all over the world the opportunity to secure the piece that resonates with them. You can find my latest collection here.
