The 100 Days Project 2023

One of the things that I really love about February is that it marks the start of #the100dayproject. No matter what ignites your creative spark, the 100 day project is a great way to make sure you are giving yourself that time and space to just be! To create for the enjoyment of creating…

And that is a truly wonderful thing.

Last year I stumbled across 100 cradle boards and they formed the basis of my 100 day project in 2022. I just picked up a board and started and it gave so much to my daily process and to elevating my art to the next step.

This project actually stuck with me throughout 2022 (and still now). Some of these pieces can became part of my collections for sale, some remain in my studio and you will often see them feature as a background to my videos. I even take them with me when I am hosting a workshop for corporate clients to showcase what can be done when you let go and just begin.

Jump in and don’t be afraid…

You say 100 days of creativity and it can feel a little bit daunting.

How do you create something new every day for 100 days?

This is really a mindset shift.

There are no rules when it comes to the 100 day project. You do not have to produce 100 “things”. You pick your own project and commit to working on it for 100 days, it can be one big painting, small daily drawings or an art journal you want to work on – this really is all about you!

I use this project as a way to get a little more accountability. A pledge to dare to jump on new things and not get caught up on the final outcome. When you listen to what your soul is guiding you to do, when you are brave and use this as your motivation to get doing something every day, you focus on the journey rather than the destination. And, for me, that is when my magic happens!

My 100 day project 2023

As you can probably tell, I LOVED being part of the 100 day project and this year I wanted to pick something cool that would work well with what I am doing in my studio.

I knew that I want the accountability of the project but I also knew that I will have limited time each day. Depending on my studio work and classes I may only get to work on this project for 10 minutes a day and that is fine.

I also know that I won’t be posting every single day as sometimes I just won’t feel that “Insta ready” moment and that is OK.

100 days of using fodder

Whenever I paint I will always save those “scrap” pieces. The paper that protects the desk or wall while I paint becomes my collage fodder and this is the focus of this years 100 day project as I have joined #100daysofusingfodder.

The incredible team behind Fodder School have created a group project and I have found this such an inspiration. For me, this year will be all about creating small pieces from scrap paper and recycled art. As usual, I do not have a plan for what the final goal will be. I will just follow my flow and enjoy the journey.

Day 1 of 100

I will pop up a weekly post to share my progress on Instagram and may even share a video of a session on YouTube so be sure to pop onto my channels and share your 100 day project inspiration too.
